Im an army infantry veteran, and also a powerlifting,strongman and highland games coach and athlete. I have been competing in powerlifting for over 10 years now and highlandgames and strongman about 4. In powerlifting i have had multiple state and national championships and as i broke away and started gearing more towards strongman i hold the title of one of the strongest disabled veterans in texas. I have had my pro status is powerlifting for a very long time now and have trained with and competed against some living legends from all over the world. My next goal is pro strongman and worlds strongest veteran, and obviously end goal is worlds strongest man. I will still bounce between all 3 sports because i pride myself in being a multi sport athlete, but after my time in the army and deployments i had many doctors tell me i would never compete let alone even be able to physically squat or deadlift ever again. No one tells me my limits or puts a limiter on me and i wanna show other that its the same for them as well. You are the only thing stopping you, nothing else nothing more. “I find peace through violent means” is a quote burned into my heart and i live that with ever training session and competition i go into.”

Winning Nationals in 2022, Battle on the Bay, and first in every other competition I’ve participated in is only the beginning of what I hope to achieve and much more!

I have known from 12 years old that my passion resides in anything strength or physical performance. As a coach of over 45 athletes, my standard remains high across the board as I expect my athletes to outshine me one day.

I’ve been given many opportunities to share my story, my lifting career and through these opportunities a platform to showcase the talented individuals that trust me to guide them. Being a VIKIN athlete means that my athletes, my husband, and myself just grew a larger family!

Samm Martin is a dedicated strength athlete and powerlifter since 2019. As a state record holder in two states and a 1x IPL World Powerlifting Champion, Samm is committed to excellence in the sport, and uplifting those around them. Beyond competition, Samm is passionate about increasing visibility and access to strength sports for everyone.
